VINYL TAP: NEW BAR AND RECORD STORE COMING TO EAST NASHVILLE

Native Eastsider, Lifelong Record Collector Shares Plans
for Neighborhood Destination

NASHVILLE, TENN. --- Vinyl Tap, part draft house and lounge, part record store, will open its doors at the former Family Wash location in East Nashville in early summer 2016, co-owner Todd Hedrick announced this week.
With Vinyl Tap, Hedrick, a fourth generation East Nashvillian, unites his lifelong obsession with music with his appreciation for high-quality brews and commitment to independent businesses.

The “Tap” side of the store will feature seasonal selections of locally brewed craft beers and a unique pub grub menu. The “Vinyl” side will feature vinyl records with a focus on local and regional artists, top sellers and historical catalogs across all genres. Live music and events are included in future plans.
“They say, “if you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life,’ and I am excited to share the things I love most with my neighbors,” said Hedrick. “Vinyl Tap is for enthusiasts like me or people who just appreciate music and enjoy a good cold beer. It will be a casual place with a living room vibe where customers and employees alike can enjoy music, beer, and friends.”

Extensive renovation on the 2038 Greenwood Avenue location is underway, with the Nashville-based Ochoa Brothers on board as general contractors. For 12 years, the location was home to the revered Family Wash restaurant and live music venue.

“I respect the local legacy of this space, and take very seriously the expectations and desires of our neighbors,” said Hedrick. “I look forward to inviting everyone in and creating a place they hopefully won’t want to leave.” Vinyl Tap joins a collective of other independent local businesses at the four-corner crossing of Porter Road and Greenwood Avenue, including Southern Grist Brewing, Porter House Bistro, and Dandelion Salon.
